LEETONIA - Frank J. Palotce, 90, passed away late Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2017, at his home following a long and fulfilling life.

Frank was born April 10, 1927, in Youngstown, a son of the late Frank J. and Elizabeth Batyani Palotce, and was a lifelong area resident, living in Columbiana County since 1996.

Mr. Palotce graduated from Chaney High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hornet during of World War II. He subsequently worked for a time for Isaly Dairy Company, and he retired as district manager from Superior Dairy Company.

Frank was a member of St. Jude Church in Columbiana.

He immensely enjoyed watching football, and his favorite team was the New England Patriots. The final football game he watched was this year’s Super Bowl, where his beloved “Pats” came from far behind for the win. In his younger days, Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he raised bird dogs and English pointers, successfully competing in field trials with his dogs and winning a tri-state championship.

Frank’s wife of 60 years, Mary R. Dolak Palotce, whom he married May 24, 1952, passed away Aug. 14, 2012.

He leaves two daughters, Mary (Joseph) Sinowski of Columbiana and Joan Kolat of Leetonia, with whom he made his home; his twin sister, Frances Redoway of Mineral Ridge; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 27, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 2 p.m.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Frank will be laid to rest next to his wife.

Frank’s daughters extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. James Shina, Dr. Richard Nord, and to Dr. Daniel Barton for taking “good care of dad” over the years.
