CANFIELD – Frank Gutierrez, 87, formerly of Youngstown, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, Aug. 23, 2018, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by his family.
Frank was born July 16, 1931, in Youngstown, a son of the late Alex and Rose Gutierrez, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Gutierrez worked for many years for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad, and he also worked as a carpenter. He was a master of many trades and there wasn't anything he couldn't do.
Frank was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown. He loved buying and restoring old and antique cars, and he also collected guns.
His wife of 60 years, Joann M. Fasanelli Gutierrez, whom he married Dec. 10, 1951, passed away March 27, 2012.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Alex (Angel) Gutierrez and Anthony Gutierrez, both of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Linda (Donald) Brobst of Canfield; seven grandchildren, Alex, Frankie, Nicky, Elizabeth, Anthony, Vincent, and Marissa; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Alex, Anthony, Johnny, and Richard Gutierrez; and a sister, Carmel Gutierrez.
Frank will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his wife, four brothers, Raymond, Joey, Louie, and Sammy Gutierrez, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday, Aug., 27, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Frank will be laid to rest next to his wife.
