YOUNGSTOWN – Frank J. Barricella, 78, of the city’s west side, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, June 4, 2018, at his home.
Frank was born June 2, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of the late Samuel and Philomena Tocco Barricella, and lived much of his life in this area.
He was a 1958 graduate of Chaney High School, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Army from 1958 until 1960, and was stationed in Germany.
Frank worked for U.S. Steel at the Ohio Works, and then for Northside Medical Center, retiring in 2002.
Mr. Barricella enjoyed traveling and he liked to play slot machines.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory his son, Frank A. Barricella of Niles; his daughter, Laura (Michael) Berry of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Haven and Geno Barricella; a great-granddaughter, Cora, whom Frank cherished and loved spending time with; three sisters, Julie (Joseph) Kravec of Austintown, Donna Poulakos of Youngstown, and Phyllis (Michael) Cicchillo of Boardman; many nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.
Frank will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., in Youngstown, where a memorial service will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Committal services with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, and will take place at a later date.
