TWINSBURG - Ellen D. Gedeon, 84, formerly of South Brockway Avenue in Youngstown, passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 30, 2018, at her home at Grande Village Retirement Community.
Ellen was born Feb. 18, 1934, in German Township, Pa., a daughter of the late Lawrence and Francesca Fabrizio Erminio, and was raised by her father and stepmother, Anne.
Ellen was a graduate of German Township High School, and after graduation came to Youngstown in 1952, living in the area until moving to Twinsburg in 2011 to be closer to her son and his family.
Mrs. Gedeon was a homemaker who also worked as an office clerk for 16 years for American Standard Company.
Ellen was a member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society.
Her husband, James D. Gedeon, whom she married Aug. 10, 1957, passed away June 1, 2007.
Ellen leaves her son, David J. (Sarah) Gedeon of Twinsburg, a granddaughter, Natalie Gedeon of Twinsburg; a sister, Eva Savage of Indiana, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Ellen was preceded in death by four sisters, Irene Smith, Rose Narducci, Josephine Arruda, and Lena DiMaggio; and two brothers, Robert and Lawrence Erminio.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 4, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Family and friends may also call from 9:30 to 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Avenue, Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. (Everyone, please meet at the church on Saturday!!)
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Ellen will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ellen’s name to the St. Brendan Church Memorial Fund.
