YOUNGSTOWN - Dino Dinon, 84, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Dino was born March 31, 1934, in the Saint Pancras District of London, England, a son of the late Odile and Angelina Bernardon Dinon, and lived for a time in Nottingham, England before coming to America and Canton as a young man in the late-1950s, eventually settling on Youngstown’s west side.
He was a graduate of St. Brendan Academy in England, and he attended university for a time while he lived in England. He honorably served in the British Army following the Korean War.
Dino was a retired union tile and terrazzo worker, who worked on various projects throughout the United States, and he was an avid golfer.
Mr. Dinon attended St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown, and he also attended the Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted on South Belle Vista Avenue.
Dino is survived by his cousins, Quinto Marcolina and Lisa Veres, both of Pennsylvania.
All are welcome to attend a Memorial Service which will take place at the Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m.
Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
