ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, OH - Blanche Mae Chismark, 85, formerly of Girard, passed away Friday morning, April 19, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Blanche was born Feb. 5, 1934, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel Hughes, and she lived in this area most of her life.
Blanche was a graduate of McDonald High School and worked at Packard Electric for 35 years, retiring in 1994.
Mrs. Chismark was a hardworking and dedicated mother and grandmother, who will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor and her baking.
Her husband, Robert A. Chismark, whom she married in 1951, passed away Jan. 26, 1986.
Blanche leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Janet Morgan of Girard and Cathy Roskie of Buckeye, Ariz.; three sons, Robert Chismark of Ravenna, Thomas Chismark of Girard, and James Chismark of St. Clair Township, with whom she made her home; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Daichendt of Austintown; a brother, Merritt Hughes of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Chismark will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her husband, three brothers, Ralph, Donald, and William Hughes, and a sister Marie Clark, preceded Blanche in death.
Per Blanche’s request, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
Private interment will be at Girard Liberty Union Cemetery, where Blanche will be laid to rest next to her husband.
