Antoinette De Steven

GIRARD - Antoinette De Steven, 95, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at her home.
Antoinette was born Dec. 1, 1921, at home on Washington Street in Girard, a daughter of the late Louis and Lucy Gelsomino De Steven, and lived a long and happy life in the family home.
She was hired on Sept. 1, 1942, at the Stenographic Division of McKay Industries (later Wean United), retiring from the company after many years.
A devout Catholic, Antoinette loved her parish, St. Rose Church, in Girard.
She was known as “Nana” to her family, and was an avid reader and owned thousands of books. In her later years, she loved sitting on her porch and visiting with neighbors, who were like family.
Antoinette leaves a brother, Perry De Steven; seven nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and great-great-great-nieces and great-great-great-nephews.
She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Thomas and Julia Tascione.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Rose Church. Interment took place at Girard Union Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard.
