William N. "Billy" Bednar, Jr.

YOUNGSTOWN - William Nicholas “Billy” Bednar Jr., 60, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, April 15, 2017, at his home of natural causes.

Billy was born April 19, 1956, in Youngstown, a son of the late William N. Sr. and Mary Gibovda Bednar, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Bednar was a 1974 graduate of Chaney High School, and worked for TAMCO Distributors. He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church on South Belle Vista Avenue in Youngstown, where he worked as a maintenance man years ago.

Billy enjoyed bowling in the GCU League and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. 

Anyone who knew Bill knew he had the purest heart and kindest soul, and he will always be remembered for his exceptional generosity to others.            

Billy leaves his son, William Nicholas “Nick” Bednar III of Youngstown; two brothers, Joseph Bednar of Greenville, So. Car. and James (Stacey) Bednar of Chicago; his former wife Tammy Bednar of Youngstown; and several extended family members and friends.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 21, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 6:45 p.m.

Due to Billy’s sudden passing, his family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
