AUSTINTOWN - Theresa “Terri” Terlecki, 77, passed away late Friday evening, Jan. 27, 2017, at Briarfield at Ashley Circle, following a brief illness.

Theresa was born April 20, 1939, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Genevieve “Jenny” Regina Herman, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1957 graduate of The Rayen School and a graduate of cosmetology school. Terri worked for many years as a beautician and hairdresser, and worked more recently as a certified home healthcare aide.

Mrs. Terlecki was a member of St. Columba Cathedral, and was a former member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Terri had a lifelong love of music. In her younger years, she played accordion in a polka band. She enjoyed polkas and ballroom dancing, and loved attending her first concert to see Tony Bennett. She also cheered for the Cleveland Indians, and had a special love for her dogs and for her son’s dogs.
Terri leaves her son, John Michael (Lori) Terlecki of Hudson, Fla.; her “furry grandkids,” Arctic and Zeke; and several extended family members, including, Mike “Beef” Terlecky, Alice Terlecky, Lizzy Terlecki Spencer, Tiffany Slovan, Jimmy Rufh, Sherri Balash, Keith Galich, and Moni, who were of great help and comfort to Terri and her family during the last several years, and whose kindness and love is greatly appreciated.

Terri’s husband, John “Turk” Terlecki, whom she married May 28, 1960, passed away Nov. 7, 1987.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
