NEW MIDDLETOWN - Sally J. Naples, 78, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Sally was born April 17, 1939, in Craigsville, in Armstrong County, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Helen Forester Rhodes, and came to the Youngstown area as a child with her family.

She was a 1957 graduate of The Rayen School and worked at Parkview Counseling Center for 30 years, retiring in 2016.

Mrs. Naples was a member of St. Michael Church in Canfield.

She greatly enjoyed politics, both local and national, and was a member of the Canfield Federated Democratic Women’s Club. Sally also volunteered for Help Hotline and enjoyed reading, and her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family.

Sally leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 58 years, Albert Naples, whom she married July 11, 1959; three children, Julianne Pontuti of Youngstown, Michael (Pauline) Naples of Lynn, Mass., and Joelle Quade of Poland; seven grandchildren, Anthony (Samantha Scarpaci) Naples, Amanda Naples, Joseph (Brittany) Pontuti, Matthew Pontuti, Angelica Abair, and Andrew and Aidan Quade; a great-grandson, Jimmy Scarpaci, with another great-grandson, Nicholas Abair, on the way; and six siblings, Beverly (Jack) Turnbull, William (Debbie) Rhodes, Dennis (Mary) Rhodes, Karen (Lyle) Fishel, Linda Rhodes, and Larry (Kimmy) Rhodes.

Sally will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, a brother, Daniel Rhodes, preceded Sally in death.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life service for Sally from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at the Poland Library, 311 S. Main St., in Poland.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., in Girard.
