Rose Holowatuk
January 2, 1935 ~ May 15, 2016 (age 81) 81 Years OldAUSTINTOWN - Rose Holowatuk, 81, passed away early Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born Jan. 2, 1935, in Sistersville, W.Va., as Charlotte Rosemary Bohrer, and was known to all as “Rose.” She was a daughter of the late Jess and Violet Summers Bohrer, and moved to this area with her family as a child.
Mrs. Holowatuk attended The Rayen School and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She also worked at the Outreach Center Thrift Store in Austintown for the past 20 years.
Rose enjoyed crocheting, and most importantly, she loved spending time with her large family.
Her husband, John Holowatuk, whom she married Aug. 24, 1953, passed away Feb. 17, 2000.
Rose leaves seven children, Deborah (Rick) Kameyer of Hanover Park. Ill., Sandra Holowatuk of Boardman, Mary Ann (Bud) Marshall of Las Vegas, John (Evelyn) Holovatyk of Poland, Ohio, Jo Ann (Ron) Mauch of Austintown, James (Gina) Holowatuk of Boardman, and Catherine (Scott) Nicholson of Midland, Texas; 16 grandchildren, Ashley, Derick, Elissa, Laurie, Melissa, Angela, Jessica, Alexia, Ariel, Kelci, Trevor, Ed, Christoffer, Ian, Brena, and Rosalie; eight great-grandchildren, David, Kyle, Dylan, Evan, Zoe, Luis, Jack, and Ava Charlotte; a brother, Glenn (Hermine) Bohrer of Hubbard; and a sister, Brenda Priester of Lawrenceville, Ga.
Besides her husband, a brother, Rex, is deceased.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, May 19, at Emmanuel Community Church, 6512 Kirk Road in Austintown, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with her son-in-law, Pastor Ron Mauch, officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
