Ronald "Pete" Tekach
March 10, 1940 ~ January 31, 2016 (age 75) 75 Years OldAUSTINTOWN - Ronald “Pete” Tekach, 75, passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 31, 2016, at his home with his family by his side.
Ronald was born March 10, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of the late Paul and Anna Misalko Tekach, was a 1958 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and was a lifelong area resident.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army, and worked for United Parcel Service for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Pete also worked prior to UPS for Compco Metal Products.
Mr. Tekach enjoyed playing golf, yardwork, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s volleyball matches.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown.
Pete leaves his wife of 52 years, Marcia A. Miller Tekach, whom he married May 11, 1963; his daughter, Tracy Tekach of Boardman; his granddaughter, Kacie Tekach; a sister, Norma (Richard) Sanderbeck of Boardman; a brother, Richard (Pat) Tekach of Poland; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Rusty.
A son, Mark Tekach, a brother, Paul Tekach Jr., and a sister, Carolyn, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home, and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, in Austintown.
Interment with military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
