Robert D. Hayes
October 20, 1942YOUNGSTOWN - Robert D. Hayes, 74, of the city’s Kirkmere area, passed away at his home of natural causes.
Robert was born Oct. 20, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of the late Robert and Ida Schilling Hayes, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1961 graduate of North High School. He worked for the P&LE Railroad as a brakeman, for Hutch Manufacturing as a foreman, and as a over-the-road truck driver.
Bob was a member of St. Christine Church in Youngstown. He coached and managed baseball with various Mill Creek teams, and he was an avid bowler and golfer.
Mr. Hayes leaves his daughter, Kelly Buggan of Zelienople, Pa.; two sons, Robert (Nadine) Hayes of Struthers and James Hayes of Cleveland; a sister, Patricia Desimone of Boardman; five grandsons; seven granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 1 p.m.
Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
