Robert Ben GrilliFebruary 19, 1955 ~ October 1, 2017 (age 62)
YOUNGSTOWN - Robert Ben Grilli, the quintessential “Youngstown man,” passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 1, 2017, at the age of 62.
Robert was born to John and Mary Grilli, and was raised on the city's west side, where he was groomed with the values of tradition, integrity, and compassion.
Alongside of, and survived by his two brothers, John and Thomas, Robert navigated the economic riptide of Youngstown’s industrial collapse, determined to raise a family in the neighborhood of his youth. After the closure of Youngstown Sheet & Tube, he kept his blue collar and began moving the nation as a semi truck driver.
Working regional delivery routes allowed Robert to have a definitive role in the lives of his sons, Christopher and Matthew, with wife Linda. Set with a cool head and a steady hand, Robert led his family by example with a tireless work ethic and a selfless demeanor.
Please join the Grilli family in celebrating Robert's life from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Following the viewing and calling hours, there will be a short service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the Grilli family is respectfully asking for donations to help with final expenses.
