Rita J. Aurilio

GIRARD - Rita J. Aurilio, 92, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, July 31, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline Lattro, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Girard High School, and worked for a time at the Lordstown Ordnance Depot before dedicating the rest of her adult life to raising and caring for her beloved family.

Mrs. Aurilio was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.

Rita was a fantastic artist, and was a lover of all sports particularly volleyball, bocce, bowling, and golf. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother, and enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Her husband, Andrew C. Aurilio, whom she married June 15, 1946, passed away May 10, 1977.

Rita leaves to cherish her memory four children, Barbara Kurz, Drew Aurilio, Karen Schenker, and Dori Aurilio, all of Girard; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Rose Lattro of Girard.

Mrs. Aurilio will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home, and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., Girard.

Interment will follow at Girard Union Cemetery.
