Michael J. Drummond

LEBANON, OH - Michael John Drummond, 67, formerly of Girard, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at his home with his loving wife by his side, following an extended illness.

Michael was born June 22, 1948, in Girard, the third of five children born to the late Edward and Mildred Drummond, and was a graduate of Girard High School. 

Mike served in the U.S. Army, and later worked as a locomotive engineer for the Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail), following a family tradition of railroaders which included a grandfather, his father, and two brothers.

Mr. Drummond was an avid sports fan, movie buff, and voracious motorcyclist. He enjoyed riding the most when it provided him an opportunity to spend time with his friends and brothers.

Mike will be remembered for his razor sharp wit, uproarious sense of humor, and generous spirit.

He leaves his beloved wife of 23 years, JoAnn O’Hara Drummond; his son, Michael James Drummond of Girard; his former wife, Sherry Drummond of Girard; his sister, Mary Ann (Dan) McEowen of Cortland; a brother, John (Celia) Drummond of Boardman; a sister-in-law, Tina Drummond of Cortland; and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Thomas. 

Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7325 Westview Dr., Boardman, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, McClurkin Memorial Chapel, in Girard.
