Mary Ann Sahagun

McDONALD - Mary Ann Sahagun, 69, passed away early Friday morning, April 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Mary Ann was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andy and Mary Delbicky Porubensky, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Sahagun was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker, and was also a beloved 33-year laundry worker at Omni Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown. She also worked as a State-Tested Nurse Assistant for three years.

Mary Ann loved going on Anderson Bus trips, enjoyed sunny days, and she loved her snowmen, butterflies and the movie "Titanic." She also loved her large family and pets. She was greatly beloved by her children and grandchildren.

In her passing, Mary Ann’s final act of kindness and generosity was her donation to LifeBanc. This donation will allow her to improve the lives of others in her death, much like she did with her life.

Mary Ann leaves her husband of 38 years, Peter Sahagun, whom she married April 3, 1978; four children, Jenni Sahagun (Bryan) Wardle of Ravenna, Peter C. Sahagun (Mary) Jones of Youngstown, Joseph Gearhart of Austintown, and Andrew (Mary) Gearhart of California; 15 grandchildren, Josh and Bridgett Eddy, Holly Green, Raistlin and Tommy O’Driscoll, Lisa, Chase, Charlie, and Caydon Wardle, Bryonna Sahagun, and Randy, Jordenn, Thomas, Zoey Gearhart (and anticipating one more); two great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnny (Bonnie) Porbensky of Rapid City, So. Dak.; a sister, Beverly Porbensky of Newport News, Va; and a nephew, Russell Phillips of California. 

A sister, Andrea Valencia, is deceased.
