Lucille Sova

AUSTINTOWN - Lucille Sova, 93, passed away peacefully early Saturday evening, Oct. 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, with her family by her side.

Lucille was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Ganofsky Sova, and was a lifelong area resident.

Lucille was a 1940 graduate of Chaney High School, and worked as a billing clerk for the Standard Slag Company for 35 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and senior citizens group. Lucille also bowled in the IHM Bowling League at Wedgewood Lanes.

Lucille leaves her sister, Rosemary Sova, with whom she shared her home; a nephew, J.R. Scrip of Youngstown; and several cousins in the area.

A brother, John Sova, a sister and brother-in-law, Irma and John Scrip, and an infant sister, Eleanor, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
