MCDONALD - Leo S. Bard, 82, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 26, 2018, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, following a lengthy illness.

Leo was born June 6, 1935, in Steubenville, a son of the late Leo and Catherine Franko Bard, and lived in McDonald for most of his life.

He was a 1953 graduate of McDonald High School and was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserves, honorably discharged in 1960.

Leo worked as an electrician for 27 years at Packard Electric, retiring in 1997.

Mr. Bard was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald.

He greatly enjoyed fishing, gardening, and making things. He designed and built his home and was known as a perfectionist. Leo’s greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Annamae Stewart, whom he married July 21, 1956; a son, Rich (Karen) Bard of Houston; a daughter, Kathy (Joe) Toth of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Joey and Amanda Toth of Ft. Wayne, and Tyler and Miranda Bard of Houston.

A brother, Tom Bard, also of McDonald, passed away the same day as Leo. Two sisters, Regina Nichols and Leona Kromer also preceded Leo in death.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard.
