Lena E. Nardella
October 20, 1922 ~ November 10, 2016 (age 94) 94 Years OldYOUNGSTOWN - Lena E. Nardella, 94, formerly of Glen Oaks Drive, passed away Thursday afternoon, Nov. 10, 2016, at Briarfield Manor in Austintown.
Lena was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Eusebia Cio Gutierrez, and was a lifelong area resident.
She graduated from Chaney High School and worked at Century Foods and at Loblaw’s before becoming a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family.
Lena enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and dancing in her younger days.
Mrs. Nardella was a member of St. Christine Church and of the Youngstown Police Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Lena leaves her husband of 70 years, Frank R. Nardella Sr., whom she married July 6, 1946; her son, Frank R. Nardella Jr. (Kay Mayhew) of Boardman; her daughter, Patricia Nardella of Roswell, Ga.; three grandchildren, Tina (Steve) Bell, Alicia (Dr. Corey) Brown, and Rena Olenick; five great-grandchildren, Jillian, Natalie, Nolan, Justin, and Grady; and a brother, Joseph Gutierrez of Youngstown.
Lena was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Nardella; two brothers, Herman and Angelo Gutierrez; and two sisters, Carmel Aguliar and Pilar Ross.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
