Kathryn Terlecky
February 11, 1920 ~ August 20, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years OldCINCINNATI - Kathryn Terlecky, 97, formerly of Youngstown, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at Forest Hill Care Center.
Kathryn was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Michael and Anastasia Kuchmarick Naberezny, and lived in this area until moving to Cincinnati to be near family in 1997.
She married her husband, Michael J. Terlecky on June 5, 1940, and the couple raised four children and had 55 happy years together, until his passing on Aug. 18, 1995.
While in Cincinnati, Mrs. Terlecky was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Kathryn had also been a member for many years of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown, where she volunteered as a worker at the annual parish festival and for the parish pirohy project. She was also a member of the Over 50 Club.
Kathryn is survived by three sons, Theodore (Kathy) Terlecky of Davis, Calif., Thomas Terlecky of Newton Falls, and Timothy (Susie) Terlecky of Rio Linda, Calif.; a daughter, Kate (Pete) Tucci of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Debbie Peronek, Nick Terlecky, John Terlecky, Alexandra Heck, Michael Terlecky, and Samantha Tucci; six great-grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Alexander, Elizabeth, Dominic, and Lucas; and two sisters, Elizabeth George of Poland, Ohio and Esther Jourdan of Cody, Wyo.
Besides her husband, two brothers, Nicholas and Jon Naberezny, and two sisters, Ann Manser and Mary Brack, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, on the northeast corner of Kirk and Raccoon Roads in Austintown, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Kathryn will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown.
