Josephine Madaline De Steven

GIRARD - Josephine Madaline De Steven, 95, passed away early Thursday morning, Oct. 13, 2016, at Meridian Arms Living Center in Austintown following a long and fulfilling life.

Josephine was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Girard, a daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine Ivanisan Rogusky, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a loving wife and mother, and devoted her adult life to raising and caring for her family while supporting her husband’s photography business.

Mrs. De Steven was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.

A devout Christian woman, with deep concern for others, “Josie” lived a full life and enjoyed many activities.

Josephine leaves her husband of 66 years, Perry De Steven, whom she married May 6, 1950; three children, Diane De Steven of Charleston, So. Carolina, Deborah Alexander of Youngstown, and Robert (Linda) De Steven of Hinckley; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Ralph) Regula; a sister-in-law, Antoinette De Steven; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Stanley Rogusky, preceded Josie in death. 

Josie is now at rest in her Heavenly Home with Jesus, along with the loved ones that have gone before her.

There are no calling hours. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Monday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main Street, Girard

Interment will follow at Girard City Cemetery.
