Jordan R. Johnson

AUSTINTOWN - Jordan R. Johnson, 27, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, Nov. 29, 2017, at his home.

Jordan was born March 7, 1990, in Youngstown, a son of Gus Johnson III and Cheryl Puskas, and was a lifelong area resident.

He attended Austintown Fitch High School and worked for Youngstown Laborers Union Local No. 125. He was enthusiastic about personal fitness, loved going to the gym, and he worked as a model.

Jordan leaves his mother, Cheryl, with whom he made his home; his father, Gus of Austintown; three brothers, Gus Johnson IV of Girard, Jeremy (Lindsay) Puskas of Trenton, N.J., and Ryan Puskas of Austintown; his sister, Courtney (Charles) Worley of Austintown; his paternal grandmother, Gladys Johnson of Youngstown; many extended family members; and many friends.

Jordan will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.

Funeral services will take place at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.

Jordan will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and his genuine giant heart. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Beneath Jordan’s beautiful smile, however, was turmoil. Jordan bravely fought a private battle with addiction, but the addiction overtook him. To those out there fighting the same battle, please do not be ashamed of your circumstances, but seek the help you need and work the program one day at a time. Only an addict can save themselves.

Jordan is finally at peace, but those left behind are hurt, saddened, confused, and truly mourn his absence. No parent should have to bury their child. If the awareness of addiction can help save at least one life, then Jordan’s life served a noble purpose.
