AUSTINTOWN - John C. Loveland, 68, passed away late Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 7, 2016, at Hospice House, following a brief illness.

John, who was know to all as “Jack,” was born April 6, 1948, in Youngstown, the son of the late Harold and Dorothy Haughey Loveland, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1966 graduate of Chaney High School and attended Choffin Career Center, where he studied auto mechanics. He also attended the Buckeye School, earning a millwright journeyman certificate.

A millwright for 47 years, Jack was currently working at Arcelor Mittal in Warren. Previously, he worked for RG Steel in Warren, WCI Steel in Warren, and for LTV Steel, Republic Steel, and Youngstown Sheet & Tube in Youngstown.

Mr. Loveland enjoyed NASCAR, WWE wrestling, working on cars, and being a “lumberjack.” Most of all, he loved the time spent with his family.

Jack leaves his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Emerick Loveland, whom he married Sept. 28, 1966; three children, John C. Jr. (Sandi) Loveland of Austintown, Diane E. (Patrick Jr.) Williams of Austintown, and James P. (Mindy) Loveland of Poland, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, James P. Loveland Jr., Brandon Loveland, Patrick Williams III, Nicholas Loveland, Alexis Loveland, Jordyn Loveland, Courtney Siddens, Heather Johnson, Dominica Acevedo, Alyiah Acevedo, and Gabby Acevedo; five great-grandchildren, Lilly, Ava, Jacob, Mia, and Harper; a sister, Patricia Stirk of Youngstown; and his feline friend, Twinkie.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 4:30 p.m.

Jack’s family thanks the staff with St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center’s ICU and 4th Floor South; the staff of Hospice House; Mark and Cheryl Palkovic; and Jack’s many friends from work, for the love and kindness shown during Jack’s illness.
