Jeffrey DiTunno

GIRARD - Jeffrey DiTunno, 54, passed away unexpectedly late Monday evening, May 2, 2016, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, after becoming ill at home.

Jeffrey was born Jan. 25, 1962, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph R. and Mary Fanning Bacon DiTunno, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1980 graduate of Girard High School. Jeff worked for many years at the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center.

He greatly loved music, especially Bruce Springsteen, and Jeff also enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. Jeff had a wonderful sense of humor and was terrific at making everyone laugh.

Mr. DiTunno leaves two brothers, John “Jack” DiTunno of Girard and James DiTunno of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Phyllis DiTunno of Girard; an uncle, Anthony DiTunno of Girard; two aunts, Patricia Morrow of Austintown and Louise Capaldi of McDonald; nieces and nephews, Tiffany Vivelo, and her son Dominic Skiffey, Joe Vivelo, and Jason and Justin Shelton; and a sister-in-law, Lori DiTunno of Niles.

Jeff will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents, a brother, Joseph D. “Jody” DiTunno, preceded him in death.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at Kinnick Funeral Home, McClurkin Memorial Chapel, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, due to Jeff’s sudden passing, his family requests memorial contributions take the form of donations to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
