GIRARD - George Tepsick, 94, passed away peacefully late Sunday evening, Nov. 13, 2016, at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles, following a long and fulfilling life.
George was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Girard, a son of the late Michael and Julia Vransich Tepsich, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Girard High School and worked for General Fireproofing in Youngstown for 42 years, retiring in 1982.
Mr. Tepsick was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving as an Aviation Metalsmith, Second Class, during World War II.
George was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.
He greatly enjoyed playing poker with his friends and he enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His wife of nearly 60 years, Ann Cveljo Tepsick, whom he married Aug. 24, 1946, passed away June 26, 2006.
George leaves to cherish his memory three children, William (Patricia) Tepsick of El Paso, Tex., Diane Pusztai of Hubbard, and David (Ellen Marie) Tepsick of Ellsworth Township; eight grandchildren, William (Liz) Tepsick Jr., Nicole (Sal) Tepsick, Jeff (Cynthia) Tepsick, Sherri (Tony) Betts, Heather Smith, Julianne (Brian) Notman, Jason Tepsick, and Jonathan (Claire) Tepsick; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Besides his wife, five brothers, Steve Tepsick, Nick Tepsick, Edward Tepsick, Paul Tepsick, and Joseph Tepsich, three sisters, Anne Buser, Mary Tepsick, and Katherine Tepsick, a son-in-law, Pete Pusztai, and a grandson Nicholas Smith, preceded George in death.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard.
Family and friends may also call from 10 to 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home, where funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m.
A committal service with military honors will follow at Belmont Park Cemetery in Liberty Township, where George will be laid to rest next to his wife.
