AUSTINTOWN - Frank M. Krawchyk, Sr., 73, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 31, 2015, at Briarfield at Ashley Place, after suffering complications from a stroke.

Frank was born June 13, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of the late Frank and Anna Hornyak Krawchyk, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1960 graduate of Chaney High School, and worked for a time in his younger days for Youngstown Steel Door. More recently, Frank retired from the Tamarkin Company as a truck driver after 32 years with the company, never missing a single day of work.

Frank was a loving and giving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and he loved and adored his wife, the former Jeanne Yankle. He and his wife shared a love of boating, and “hanging out” with good friends. His motto was “It don’t get no better” when he was on his boat on the water.

Frank leaves his beloved wife, Jeanne; three children, Ken (Loni) Krawchyk of Poland, Frank M. Krawchyk, Jr. of Austintown, and Debbie (Bob) Hyziak of Austintown; five grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, and Taylor Krawchyk, and Chrissy and Heather Hyziak; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Selah; a stepson, Don (Shelly) Jakovina of Austintown; and five step-grandchildren, Tara and Michael Costello, and Donnie, Casey, and Jay Jakovina.

Frank will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Two sisters, Shirley Steigauf and Dolores Zelonish, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.

Frank’s family thanks the staff with Briarfield at Ashley Place and with Hospice of the Valley, for the kindness shown and wonderful care given to Frank.
