Dorothy Thomas

MCDONALD - Dorothy Thomas, 90, passed away Friday morning, March 17, 2017, at Vista at The Ridge in Mineral Ridge, following a brief illness.
    
Dorothy, who was known as “Dot,” was born Oct. 19, 1926, in Butler, Pa., a daughter of the late Alex and Caroline Hunka Budrevich, and moved to McDonald with her family in the early 1940s.
    
She was a 1945 graduate of McDonald High School, and after her marriage to Thomas Thomas, became a homemaker who dedicated the remainder of her life to raising and caring for her family. Dot enjoyed cooking, baking, and hosting many holiday gatherings for her family.

Mrs. Thomas was a devout Christian and enjoyed traveling to churches throughout the area, attending services of different denominations. Dot also enjoyed square dancing and she loved and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Her beloved husband of 62 years, Tom, whom she married Jan. 29, 1949, passed away May 8, 2011.

Dot leaves two sons, Terry (Wendy) Thomas of McDonald and Tommy Thomas; five grandchildren, Tommy (Jeana), Jacob (Charla), Michael (Heather), Brandon, and Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gabby, and Jorden; and two brothers, Ray Budrevich of Mineral Ridge and John Budrevich of McDonald.

Besides her husband, a brother, Alex Budrevich, preceded her in death. 

Private services were held Monday, March 20, at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown, where Dorothy was laid to rest next to her husband. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
