Donna Jean Rossi

GIRARD - Donna Jean Rossi, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, June 19, 2016, at Omni Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown.

Donna was born Feb. 20, 1932, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Carmel Deceasare Bedolla, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1950 graduate of The Rayen School and worked at the former Mahoning Bank, and most recently worked at Nickel’s Bakery.

Mrs. Rossi was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.

She greatly enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, cooking Italian food, dancing, and watching her grandchildren play sports. Donna loved the Cleveland sports teams and she greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Her husband of nearly 57 years, Alfred Rossi, whom she married May 14, 1955, passed away April 7, 2012.

Mrs. Rossi leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Michael (Sandra)  Rossi of Gahanna and David (Debra) Rossi of Austintown; and four grandchildren, Michael, David, Jennifer, and Dante.
Besides her husband, an infant son, Dennis, is deceased.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 21, at Kinnick Funeral Home 222, S State St., Girard.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 22, and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., Girard.
 

Interment will follow at Girard City Cemetery where Donna will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Donna’s family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Arms Assisted Living, the staff at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center ICU Unit in Youngstown, and the staff at the South Wing at Omni Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown, for the kindness shown and care given to Donna and to her family.
