Darlene M. Davis

AUSTINTOWN - Darlene M. Davis, 87, formerly of Youngstown’s west side, passed away late Monday evening, Nov. 16, 2015, at Brookdale Assisted Living, following an extended illness.

Darlene was born May 8, 1928, in Columbiana, a daughter of the late James and Sylvia Butler Ladigo, and was a lifelong area resident.

Before she married and started a family, Darlene worked in the office at B&N Transportation. She married John H. Davis on Sept. 20, 1958, and devoted her life to raising and caring for her family.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, and ceramics. Later in life, she worked for a janitorial service company.

Darlene leaves her son, Mark T. (Sally) Davis of Spring Hill, Fla.; a sister, Grace Ferguson of Youngstown; and two brothers, Larry Ladigo of Youngstown and Gary Ladigo of Austintown.

Her husband of 52 years, John, passed away March 17, 2011. Sisters Phyllis Taylor and Shirley George, and brothers, William, Ronald, Ray, and Robert Ladigo, also preceded her in death.

Per Darlene’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Committal services will take place at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown at a later date, where Darlene will be laid to rest next to her husband.
