Charles Conrad Novicky

DENVER - Charles Conrad Novicky, 64, formerly of Youngstown, passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at his home of natural causes.

Charles, who’s nickname was “Chas,” was born Feb. 19, 1953, in Youngstown, a son of John T. and Katherine Hoover Novicky, and was a 1972 graduate of Chaney High School. He lived in Youngstown until moving to Colorado about 10 years ago.

A man with an independent spirit who was never one to rely on others for anything, Mr. Novicky was a phlebotomist in Denver. He has an affinity for animals, especially his dog, Rommel, and was a great fan of The Beatles, collecting every album and song that they recorded. 

Chas leaves his mother, Katherine Novicky of Austintown; four brothers, James (Patty) Novicky of Austintown, Jack (Susanne) Novicky of New Middletown, Robert (Claudette) Novicky of Port Orchard, Wash., and Lawrence (Kathy) Novicky of Davidsonville, Md.; and three sisters, Peggy (Carole) Novicky of Dorset, Theresa Novicky of Largo, Fla., and Mary Kay Cancelli of Akron.

Chas will be dearly missed by his family, and by all who truly knew him.

His father, and two brothers, Thomas P. and David W. Novicky, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, at St. Christine Church on S. Schenley Ave. in Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m.

Interment with graveside services will take place Monday, Oct. 16, at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Mr. Novicky will be laid to rest with his brother, David.
