GIRARD - Annalee Park, 76, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at her home. 

Annalee was born Aug. 8, 1940, in the Peterborough, Ontario, Canada area, and was the youngest daughter of the late Cyril and Myrtle Langdon Scott. She moved to Girard upon her marriage to Alpheus W. Park in 1959. 

Annalee was an amazing cook and baker and will be remembered fondly by family, friends, and the community for her fantastic meals and baked goods. Her homemade spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, haluski, and cabbage rolls were loved by friends and family, along with her strawberry cake, Canadian butter tarts, and hand-dipped chocolate peanut butter candy. Annalee “took care” of people at the Summit Café for over 20 years and was famous for her homemade Friday suppers that were enjoyed by the community. 

Annalee was a longtime LPN who worked at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, where she still regularly attended the cardiac rehab center there for workouts and visiting with friends. 

The family farm and friends and family in the Peterborough, Ontario area were a significant part of Annalee's life and many summers were spent there visiting. Annalee also loved being part of the polka music community and SNPJ in Enon Valley, Pa. She loved dancing to and listening to polka band music and had developed many dear friendships because her love of music. She could often be found every Friday night enjoying the polka music at a nearby establishment or at SNPJ.  She had a trailer out at SNPJ and spent many enjoyable summers there.

She is survived by three daughters, Dr. Carol A. Park of Columbus, Debra L. (Tim) Wiant of Greensburg, Pa., and Wendy L. Park of Girard; three grandchildren, Timmy Wiant, Sean Wiant and Nicholas Wiant; a great-grandchild, Jordyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada.  

Besides her parents of Lakefield, Ontario, Annalee was preceded in death by her husband, Alpheus of Girard; her brother, James W. (Jean) Dockrell of Halifax, Nova Scotia; and a sister, Florence Hendren (Rudy) Berka of Peterborough.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 27, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Rhonda Gallagher, with music provided by a polka band.
