YOUNGSTOWN - Anastazia Bolotennyj, 91, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday afternoon, June 22, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Anastazia was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Rabchyce, Ukraine, a daughter of the late Simeon and Julia Muszala Locuniak, and came to America in 1950, settling in Youngstown in 1951. 

She was a homemaker who dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family, and she also worked for a time at New York Bakery on Glenwood Avenue.

Mrs. Bolotennyj was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Youngstown, where she was a member of the St. Anne Guild and a pyrohy project volunteer. She was very proud of her garden and had a great passion for flowers.

Anastazia leaves four grandchildren, Bohdan “Bo” Bolotenny Jr. of Howland, Lisa Bolotenny of Youngstown, Jodie (James) Guy of Poland, and Michael Bolotenny of Youngstown; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bolotenny and Joshua Guy; and several relatives in Ukraine.

Her husband, Mychajlo Bolotennyj, passed away May 9, 1993. Her son, Bohdan Bolotenny, passed away in 2007.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 26, Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a prayer service will take place at 5 p.m.

Funeral services will begin on Monday at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, and will continue at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Mrs. Bolotennyj will be laid to rest next to her husband and son.
